I continue to struggle wit...Yes they absolutely do. I continue to struggle with nightmares at times, and flashbacks. Even though there is that mental trauma though, I also think there's a a huge gift of appreciation attached. I don't know about you but this whole experience has made me so unbelievably thankful just to be alive that I've learned to appreciate things like sunsets and full moons in ways I hadn't since I was a child, when they were new.<br /><br />Four surgeries is a lot! I had 3 but only one was on my mid-section, the other 2 were just on my knee. I'm so very glad for you that you made it through. I will admit though that I was not ready to go when they discharged me - I felt like I could have done with at least another 2 - 3 weeks of around the clock care.<br /><br />Did you end up with any permanent injuries?
